Is it appropriate for Younger students including Kindergarten students to search the internet and YouTube specifically for movies/information relating to a subject?  Kathy has asked the question because recently in her Kindergarten class students were searching YouTube for a video posted of a students brother.

What do teachers use blogging for in the classroom? 
The main one I have come across is to publish work and update parents on their children’s day - a way of keeping in touch with the parents.  Although the time this would take up would be minimal.  Are students being engaged and are they actively learning??

I agree with Steven that although podcasting is daunting it could be of great benefit to children in the classroom in various key learning areas and for many different subjects.
The background noise is an issue. I wonder whether if by children using a microphone attached directly to the computer rather than a speaker picking [...]
